Virginia Savelle Model

What to expect when you hire me as a model  ...  Expect me to be there  ... Expect me to be on time  ...  Expect me to do what is needed to create the vision you hired me for.

As your hired model, I am very easy to work with.  Part of my job is to bring some ideas to the table and be a little uncomfortable for a few minutes if it gets us an incredible shot.  A paid photo shoot is not about me.  Blisters and ant bites just come with the territory sometimes.

Just as you can expect my best, I expect a photographer to take care of my image with respect and to always present the photos in their best light.  I am a firm believer in post production to make an image represent all involved at their best.  If you do not share this philosophy regarding your craft, then I am probably not the right model for your project.

Regardless of the project type, a concept that conveys elegance, attitude, is truly artistic, quirky or severe is where you'll get my best work.  I am most interested in the following types of jobs:

  • Promotional Modeling and Commercials
  • Artist's Life Model
  • Runway
  • Commercial Print - Fashion, Lingerie, Beauty, Glamour, Corporate, Lifestyle
  • Artistic Nude - Figure Study, Fine Art, Glamour, Erotic/Fetish (non-pornographic)

- BOOKING POLICIES -

I'm very direct and am not afraid to ask for what I want during our initial negotiation.  After that, I'll be your kitten, and we'll get some art made -- I contribute ideas, endure discomfort until it hurts too much, try weird things, do what you tell me, keep things light and just generally cooperate so we can have a great experience.  The business must be done first though.

I love to travel, but I won't pay for it.   Anything outside of Austin (even a trip to San Antonio) will require expenses to be paid.

If we book a job more than thirty days out, I will require a non-refundable deposit of 25% to confirm the booking.

When we set a date, I will need copies of any and all documents that you will want signed emailed to me immediately.  If I find irrelevant or disadvantageous language pertaining to me, you need to have an open mind and be willing to consider adjustments.  I will never try to take away what you are entitled to, but I will absolutely make sure an inferior Agreement, Release or Contract does not slip by me.  Short and simple can get the job done.  If you have a document that combines four different types of transactions, you probably have a document full of contradictions.  Chances are very good that I will NOT sign it.  There is too much room for error.

When I reserve time for you in my schedule, I am committed to it.  I expect a serious commitment from you as well.  Since we have to simply trust each other, good communication until the shoot date is essential.

The only time I will ever request to bring an escort is if we are doing a very interesting shoot  that my photographer affiliate would enjoy watching or if his assistance would be useful.  If you do not like extras on set, I will respect that.

If a paid shoot begins taking a turn from the style originally discussed, I will not hesitate to stop the shoot and renegotiate the compensation.

Unless we have something very specific in writing, you may only photograph me while I am on set.  More specifically, and this pertains to outdoor shoots, you do not have permission to photograph me while I have the expectancy of privacy as I change clothes, freshen up, etc.  You may ask and shoot with verbal permission, but you better have an Addendum in hand immediately afterward even if we're deep in the outdoors.  I shouldn't even have to address this, but I have had a negative experience with a photographer whose true colors came out after the fact.

Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will NOT be rescheduled.

TFCD Requirements

I will gladly consider your TFCD project, but will only consider working with photographers who can improve on my current portfolio.

*Please read before contacting me for TFCD*

This is all stuff that we would discuss prior to shooting anyway, so putting it on the table up front just makes the process easier.

I enjoy TFCD with an experienced photographer who also enjoys and can appreciate the value of a collaboration with another quality artist.

I DO NOT enjoy negotiating with a photographer who thinks that two image files with his big logo in the middle is supposed to be a fair trade.  It is precisely that type of photographer who has led me to print such an inclusive summary of my expectations of our experience working together.

So here we go ....

Documents Required for TFCD Shoot (click to download Word documents)

The information below does not detail every issue addressed in the documents above.
It is being provided as a general summary.  The business end of a shoot must be taken care of before the fun and creativity can begin.

 Virginia Savelle TFCD

A trade should allow both parties equal benefit, so I the following terms must apply if we collaborate on a project.

1.)  CD of Images -- In fairness, I expect a high-res image CD containing every image that represents quality work of both the Photographer and Model.  If you think an image is terrible, trash it, but do not randomly decide what images I can have.  If you have it, then I have it.

2.)  Touched Up Images -- You'll be doing post-production on your favorite images anyway, so it only makes sense for you to include your select images on my CD along with the untouched versions.  The number of images is up to you.

3.)  Post Production -- I am a firm believer in it!  If we create images together, I expect and will require you to agree not to display, sell, trade or give away images with my likeness that have not had a minimum of reasonable and appropriate post production work done.  I will agree to your usage of photos with my likeness however and whenever you please as long as they are retouched to represent me at my best possible for that photo.  (see downloads above)

4.)  No watermarks and logos are to be on my files.  These images are to be used to promote ME, so your mark distorting my photo is not necessary.  Put your marks on your own copies.

5.)  If the CD will include touched up images and can not be delivered within two to three weeks, we need to discuss the issue before shooting.  I understand that paid work is important, but so is work for which I've already done my part.  If you've ever told a TFCD Model, "I'll get to it when I get to it," that sounds like poor business practice to me.

6.)  Make sure you understand that I intend to do post-production work on select  images that did not already receive work.  I will trade your signed TFCD Agreement (I will NOT sign a PAID Model Release) for my Usage License (available as download above if you don't have your own)

7.)  While the purpose of TFCD is portfolio building, if either Photographer or Model are able to profit from images created, there is an expectation of mutual profit, based on the lack of initial payment for services and the absence of a Model Release.

Virginia Savelle TFCD Model8.)  Nudity and Glamour in TFCD -- I have very high expectations from a photographer who needs Nudity and Glamour to update his portfolio, and I find these to be the most common styles that I am offered.  Since it is our mutual purpose to upgrade our portfolios, a little more effort is reasonable to expect.  An MUA and/or hairstylist must be provided for a Glamour shoot, and may be necessary for artistic nudes.  I can do my own hair as long as you want the long, sexy look.  I can NOT do my own up-dos or other specialty styles.
